Brad and Dusty return to make Christmas perfect for their kids. Their friendship and co-dad-ing is put to the test when Dusty and Brad’s own dad’s arrive for the holiday. After a spur of the moment decision to go on a luxury Christmas vacation, the dad’s battle out their differences in chaotic ways.

I was very excited for this sequel; I’m not going to lie! I really enjoyed the original (I love a good trashy film) and after the success of A Bad Moms Christmas, I was ready for more Will Ferrell comedy. This film was awful; it lacked plot, comedy and even likeable characters.

The plot is the same as Bad Moms the dads come to town and chaos ensues. The main problem I had with this plot is that it seemed pointless and it lacked the comedy it required to make a plot like this work. Another massive problem was that the children were all so unlikeable! Spoilt and rude do not make a good combination. The reason this film is in my opinion such a flop is because it lacks that comedy that the first was full of.

The only reason I gave this film a five is because it did have a few moments when I laughed out loud and they sang ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ and you can’t go wrong with that!nIf you are going to see any trashy Christmas films this year make sure it’s not Daddy’s Home Two! I’d spend my time and money catching Bad Mom’s Christmas!

I had high hopes for this movie considering I actually quite enjoyed ‘Daddy’s Home’. It’s lighthearted comedy which tackles a fairly deep subject in divorce which many families unfortunately go through. In this sequel it’s now specified as a Christmas film. Which is a good move as it draws audiences in who particularly like the genre. However this in no way, shape or form would ever be a classic Christmas film. It will never live up to other Christmas movies like Elf, Jingle All The Way or Home Alone.

To be really honest I didn’t even find the comedy funny at at all. I found it difficult to engage, as to me all the characters were pretty annoying. The only reason it might do well in the box office is because of its big Hollywood names. I used to love John Cena in WWE but he really needs to stay away from movies, first in Trainwreck and now Daddy’s Home 2, it needs to stop. Also, I hate to be PC but some of the jokes which included the kids were totally inappropriate and not at all sending a good message to potential youths watching this film.

If you want to see a ‘Christmas’ film then I would urge you to see ‘A Bad Moms Christmas’ as its not as awful at this one. I also hope that this will be the second and final Daddy’s Home, I cannot imagine how they would be able to create another storyline from this.
