If they hear you, they will hunt you.

After a heavy marketing campaign, I worried that the best of the film had been given away in the trailer. While in a way I still feel that seeing the trailer a million times did prepare for a lot of what was to come; nothing prepared me for the masterclass in acting and suspense building that I experienced.

John Krasinski has done an amazing job with his directorial debut, the tension that I felt throughout the whole film was incredible. I don't think that I've been to the cinema and ever been so still or quiet. Waiting with baited breath for pretty much the whole film, there was never a moment of full relief. Although most of the film is completely quiet with just the running of water or the rustle of leaves, the score that accompanies the film does wonders for adding to the tension. Just when you think you can breathe for a minute the pounding score shocks you back into panic.

The acting in this film is amazing. A film with such a small cast (not including a few extras with minimal screen time) and such a short script is so reliant on acting and in this film the choices are perfect. Each member of this small cast bring something to their roles. Noah Jupe gets yet another great role under his belt with this one. Relative newcomer Millicent Simmonds also holds her own. Emily Blunt and John Krasinski make a great couple (obviously!) and there are some great moments that show both their abilities. I think that it's great that Krasinski chose to cast Simmonds (a deaf actress) to play the role of Regan, instead of having someone act the part.

My final thing to say because I don't want to say much and give anything away is that I was incredibly impressed with character development and how invested I became in the survival of this family without the masses of dialogue of a usual film. I would definitely urge people to get out there and catch this one, just make sure you don't bring any snacks with you!

With fantastic acting, creating suspense, along with its killer music, A Quiet Place is all round great horror movie. It has a very clever promotional campaign, and with a trailer that is haunting in itself, I wouldn't be surprised if this picture brings in a big crowd. Directed, written and starring John Krasinski he definitely does a great job alongside his excellent cast. The eerie music and suspenseful scenes are always a great combination to keep the audience gripped.

The cast were really amazing, it just shows their acting capabilities when they've got to communicate through sign, facial expressions and body language. It also must be much harder when you are actually deaf, so a special mention to Millie Simmons who was superb. She is a real talent and hope to see her being cast in more movies. This film has just confirmed that I want to learn sign language, just something I've been thinking about for a long time. Emily Blunt also played a pivotal role, her performance solidified her acting presence, but not much acting needed for her chemistry with John Krasinski.

So I'm being a little judgey on this one. While this is a very solid movie, which had me scared and emotional I still had a few issues. Firstly, they introduced the 'threat' too quickly. They didn't allow the audience to try and guess what it is, by leaving it slightly longer there probably would have been even more suspense. Also I do feel like the whole nature and vibe of the film just made it easy to create suspense. As if its almost silent for 10 minutes and then a sudden loud noise erupts I feel like that takes you by surprise regardless of whats happening on screen.

It slightly reminded me of 'The Village', with the change of the lights when there was threat, and the raised look-out point which had a fire. Kind of similar elements in both films. Nevertheless I did enjoy this film and I was totally hooked. But make sure you don't bring snacks and definitely no popcorn.

**********SPOILER ALERT***********
Okay so for those who have seen this movie, how in the hell did Evelyn (Emily Blunt) manage to give birth on her own without drugs, or making a noise. Not to mention with a massive hole in her foot. Then just turns up standing up with a baby in her arms. Please tell me how that is possible as it kind of ruined it for me as now it was totally unbelievable.
